1st XI Cricketers Tie With MCC

On Tuesday 24th May our 1st XI cricketers were involved in a thrilling tied match with a team from the MCC.  It was a wonderful day of cricket played in the true spirit of an MCC fixture.  Silcoates bowled and fielded well to restrict the MCC to 235 in 46 overs, with Kit Anderson taking 1-54 in 11 overs of good left arm swing bowling.  Silcoates paced their reply very well with a collective effort, Will Fraine top scoring with 70.  Two runs were needed for victory from the final ball; we managed to scramble a single to tie the match.  It was an excellent effort from all the boys who participated – well done!
