On Governors’ Day, Friday 23rd March, some willing Year 9 musicians, led by their Year Prefect Hannah Warwicker, serenaded governors, staff and pupils whilst they ate. Mr Affleck proved skilful, not only on the bassoon, but also at extracting money from pupils’ and adults’ pockets with some aggressive bucket-rattling! His efforts and those of the musicians helped to raise a total of £128.84 for Wakefield Hospice, which will hopefully be bolstered by further funds from the Year 9 sponsored swim and run.
