Mr Rodgers and Mr Jeanes took a hardy bunch of Year 7 athletes to Thornes Park on Thursday 21st June to compete in the U12 Wakefield Schools Competition. There were some excellent performances in what can only be described as torrential rain, as you can see from the picture!
Jay Jay Nuttall won the discus with a throw of 18.40m. Alfie Benton came fourth in the same event, but won the 75m hurdles in an excellent time of 14.6 seconds. Ben Donson jumped superbly in the high jump, which fortunately was moved indoors, finishing second but setting a new school record of 1.40 metres. Our relay team of Matthew Buckley, Alfie Benton, Will Forrest and Harrison Baxter came fourth in their race. Well done, boys!
