It won’t be long before the sport of cycling grabs all the news headlines, especially if Bradley Wiggins wins the Tour de France, Mark Cavendish wins the Olympic Road Race and Team GB excels in the Olympic Velodrome, but just to keep our own cycling news ticking over we have a final story of the year about Lauren O’Brien in Year 10.
On Sunday 1st July Lauren competed at a National Circuit Race at Hetton Lyons Park on a closed road circuit, one of eight such races all over the country between May and August. This time the forty girls from around the UK had to complete twenty laps of a 3km course, and after an hour of racing Lauren came over the line in second place – very well done!
