Senior Speech Day

The school year ended on a high note at the Senior School Speech Day on Thursday 5th July.  There were lots of prizes to distribute, some excellent musical performances and even the Headmaster’s speech was relatively short!  The Guest of Honour, Matt Parker, gave an excellent, witty address to highlight the importance of education as tool for further discovery, and his seemingly simple trick with a chain and a ring really caught the imagination.

It was a very positive way to end a year that has brought great success but also some very challenging times for the school community.  The Heads of School, Harriet Willings and Michael Jessop, rounded the evening off with eloquent and moving reflections about their time at Silcoates and the benefits they have gained from being here.
