Welcome to the Old Silcoatians’ Association pages of the website.
Having been elected as Chairman of the OSA since June 2011, I’m building upon the excellent work that my predecessors and the Committee have done to date.
Membership of the OSA is open to all former pupils, members of staff and any friend of the school or the Foundation whom the Association wishes to honour. The Committee itself is formed by ex-pupils and members of staff past and present, with the Headmaster and the Chairman of Governors in attendance to lend their support as well.
The aim of the Association is to unite former pupils of all generations of Silcoates School through a number of social events during the year, while at the same time working with the Foundation in promoting the welfare of the School and Foundation.
In 2010 we fundraised over £11,000 for the all-weather pitch and pledged an additional £10,000 from the OSA Life Fund to go to the project. During 2011, the OSA managed to raise another £11,000 to contribute towards bursaries and scholarships for the School and Foundation. We’d like to continue and exceed our targets for 2012 with all your help.
Our regular annual social events include:-
- Quiz Night
- Sportsman’s Dinner
- Old Silcoatians’ Day and Annual Dinner
