St Hilda's School

Please note that from September 2010 boys can stay at St. Hilda's until Year 6, making the school fully co-educational throughout.
Welcome to St Hilda's School, Horbury, a school belonging to the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools.
St Hilda's is a school where children aged from birth to 11 years are able to blossom and grow in a stimulating learning environment 51 weeks of the year. Children may attend St Hilda's from birth in a specialized birth-to-3 years unit and then move seamlessly through the school. At 11 years, the boys and girls transfer to Silcoates School.
St Hilda's has a long and enviable reputation of achievement where children make very good progress, confidently and with enjoyment. The school occupies a beautiful Grade II listed building, a former convent in the centre of Horbury. The picturesque setting provides a safe and stimulating learning environment in which children can truly flourish. A team of dedicated, experienced teachers and staff work closely with parents to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential. Small class sizes and lots of space enable the children to receive the care and attention they deserve.
A recent inspection report noted that:
- "The quality of care that staff devote to the well-being of the pupils at every stage is outstanding"
- "Behaviour is exemplary"
- "Children have confidence in their ability to learn"

My staff and I are always happy to answer any questions you may have, and I am confident that should you take the opportunity to come and see us you will be overwhelmed by the warmth of the school and the standards that the children achieve. Please contact us to arrange a mutually convenient time to take a look around our beautiful school.
We look forward to seeing you.
Mrs Jo Sharpe
Headmistress
