On Saturday 16th June, thirty-seven Old Silcoatians and guests gathered for lunch in the Dining Hall. It was a lovely occasion, with good food and good company to share it with. The Guest of Honour was Bert Cameron, who taught mathematics at Silcoates form 1962 to 1980. He made a short speech to explain why he was donating a substantial sum to the School’s prizegiving funds. The Geoffrey Cameron Prize for Excellence in Mathematics is in memory of his son and The Jean Musson Memorial Art Prize is in memory of Mrs Musson, for her artistic talents and service to Silcoates.
Guy Cliff also spoke, thanking our guests for making the effort to travel as far as from Scotland and Somerset and reminding people that the AGM will take place in November, after the Remembrance Day service in the Chapel. Lunch will also be provided that day.
The Headmaster finished off the formalities by giving an update on progress at the School and looking forward to the development of the all-weather pitch in the next few months.
