A spirited and relentless performance by the 1st XI saw them come away from their last match before half-term feeling satisfied with their effort but a touch disappointed with the score line. But for the first five minutes, Silcoates dominated possession and had numerous opportunities, limiting their opponents to one or two breakaways. Ultimately, it was just a slight lack of quality in the final third of the field that was to cost them a much deserved win.
A depleted 2nd XI travelled to Mount St Mary’s on a bright, sunny afternoon. They started very positively and were certainly on top for the first fifteen minutes, but a lack of awareness in front of goal was to prove costly as the team was not able to capitalise on their early good play.  Mount scored twice before half-time giving them greater confidence in their performance.  They continued to add pressure in the second half and scored some well executed goals.
