Welcome to the Silcoates’ Careers Suite – A Gateway to Informed Futures

84% of students achieved their first choice university in 2023

At Silcoates, we understand the importance of guiding our pupils towards successful and fulfilling careers. Our newly opened Careers Suite is dedicated to delivering comprehensive careers information, advice, and guidance to all pupils, aligning with government guidelines and the Gatsby Benchmarks. Mrs Corrina Slaski, our Level 6 qualified Careers Adviser, is based here and is committed to providing tailored support to each pupil.

Services and Support

In our accessible Careers Suite, we host lunchtime "drop-in" sessions, encouraging pupils to bring their questions and seek guidance at any time. Students can request a careers interview, ensuring support is readily available when needed. The Careers Suite also offers a quiet space for online interviews or assessments, accommodating the diverse needs of our students.

Parents are welcome to connect with Mrs Slaski directly, should they have any questions about careers support.

Unifrog at Silcoates

Silcoates has recently invested in Unifrog, an acclaimed online platform designed to assist students in making
well-informed decisions about their futures. Tailored tools spanning from Years 7 to 13 enable pupils to compare every undergraduate course in the UK and explore international opportunities. Unifrog is the go-to place for comprehensive lists of live apprenticeships, Higher and Degree apprenticeships, and other Further Education courses. The platform also assists in creating essential application materials such as CVs and Personal Statements, and facilitating the Work Experience process.

Through engaging quizzes based on personality, skills, interests, and work environment, Unifrog enables pupils to explore subject and career pathways. Pupils are able to conduct detailed research on careers, understand diverse routes, and document all their career interactions and significant moments in one place.
