The Silcoatians Association

Welcome to the Silcoatians Association.

The Silcoates Association plays an important role in supporting leavers and enabling them to continue their life-long connection with Silcoates. Volunteer members are elected to serve on the Association’s committee to support the running of this service.

The Association has been established nearly as long as the school and was formed to help former pupils keep in touch with the school and each other. All former pupils and staff are eligible for membership.

The Association works to provide opportunities for former pupils to engage with the School and a reunion lunch is held every summer. The Annual General Meeting is held following the ‘Silcoates Remembers’ service on Remembrance Sunday.

Funds have been raised to help provide additional facilities to support Silcoates continuing to provide the best for everyone. Donations to charities have also been made as result of our events.

The Association is currently working on providing pupils with information to help them chose a career, find work experience placements and support former pupils with their career development. A mentoring and advice service is also available after leaving school. Members of the Association also support pupils with advice on preparing a CV, interview practice and careers talks.

2020 is the bicentenary of the School’s foundation and a number of exciting events will be held for current and former pupils. Plans are already in place for a special commemorative book to be published in time for the celebrations. Further news about this will be available in Summer 2019. We are also planning to update a database so that members of the Association will be able to find out more about is planned for the bicentenary.

Please therefore check this page on the website when you can to find out the latest details about the Association and the events we have planned.
