Excellent GCSE Results…

GCSE Results
Much has been written about how this year’s GCSEs are a lot harder and that it will be tougher to achieve the high grades. However, we are pleased to say that our Year 11 pupils have excelled themselves. 93% of grades were at Grade 4 (or Grade C) or above and 44% were at Grade 7 (or Grade A) or above. 9 students achieved Grades 7 to 9 (As and A*) in all their subjects and 5 achieved all Grades 8 and 9 (or A*). We are particularly excited that 11.4% of the grades in the reformed subjects were the new Grade 9, which is even harder to obtain than an A*. It was a real joy to see our students pick up their results this morning. Naturally, I am extremely pleased for those who have achieved very high grades across the board but, for several of our students, they significantly outstripped their predictions through diligence and determination. It is never easy being the first cohort doing new specifications but the students, and their teachers, have worked incredibly hard to ensure that their results were the best they could possibly be. Many congratulations all round.
