We design a range of opportunities to enhance learning outside of the classroom, creating a sense of awe and wonder. To complement classroom work, our pupils take part in a range of high quality educational visits, from exploring the local Sculpture Park, Kirkstall Abbey and Yorkshire Wildlife Park, to helping local charitable organisations such as the Donkey Sanctuary.
Our pupils also enjoy their regular visits to our very own ‘forest’ situated within our magnificent grounds and staffed by practitioners who can fully embed the ‘forest school’ principles. The pupils enjoy exploring the nature and changing seasons around the 50-acre site: growing plants, using their muddy kitchen, investigating wildlife and we have even seen roasting marshmallows on the campfire!
When children work inside, we have two bespoke Pre-School rooms. The ‘messy’ room enables children to experiment and enjoy exploring through a number of different mediums. Children also benefit from the many other facilities on site – including the Chapel, Hall, Music Rooms, Swimming Pool and Sports Hall. A favourite facility for the children is the swimming pool where they have opportunity once a week to begin to learn to swim.
