Silcoates School celebrates Strong GCSE results

51% of all GCSE grades awarded at grades 9–7, equivalent to A–A.*

Pupils at Silcoates School are celebrating today after receiving their GCSE results, with this year’s cohort achieving a strong set of results across a wide range of subjects.

51% of all grades were awarded at grades 9–7, equivalent to A*–A under the former grading system, while 87% were awarded at grades 9-5.

Over half of all pupils in this year’s cohort achieved five or more grades at 7 or above.

Among the strongest-performing subjects were Chemistry, where 79% of grades were awarded at 9-7, Religious Studies where 70% of grades were awarded at 9-7 and English Language, where 63% achieved grades 9-7.

The results also demonstrate the progress made by pupils during their time at Silcoates. On average pupils achieved results over half a grade higher than predicted by baseline assessments with pupils in all ability groups making strong progress, reflecting the School’s commitment to helping every pupil achieve beyond expectations.

Among the many individual successes, congratulations go to Charlie Davis who achieved nine grades at 9-7, including eight grade 9s.

Also celebrating exceptional results of nine grades at 9-7 are Kameron Baker, Ava Costello, Olivia Dunn, Ari Kumar, Menahil Murthezar, Scarlett Parker, Ianthe Rosenberg and Charlie St John.

A number of pupils also achieved particularly impressive results in relation to their individual starting points. Seth Hoole, Daisy May Marshall and Eleni Baines achieved results on average, two grades above their predicted outcomes across all subjects, highlighting the progress pupils can make during their time at Silcoates.

These results reflect the breadth of a Silcoates education, where high academic expectations sit alongside opportunities for pupils to develop their confidence, character and independence. By knowing and supporting each pupil as an individual, the School aims to help every young person discover their strengths, flourish in their interests and develop the skills, resilience and ambition to thrive.

“We are absolutely delighted to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 pupils. They should feel enormously proud of the results they have worked so hard to achieve, and we are thrilled to see their commitment and determination rewarded.

At Silcoates, success is about much more than grades. We want every pupil to discover their strengths, challenge themselves and become the very best version of themselves. This year group has shown real character and individuality, and we are incredibly proud of the confident, capable and well-rounded young people they have become.

Their GCSE results are a wonderful reflection of everything they have achieved, both academically and personally, and we look forward to seeing them continue to flourish.”
