Silcoates Junior School is a very happy school that provides an outstanding education for boys and girls aged 4-11. Ensuring that our children are happy and thriving is of paramount importance to us. We believe that happy children flourish at school.
We know that children make considerable progress in their primary years, from their first steps into school life in Pre-School through to Year 6 when they are ready to move up to our Senior School.
The Junior School is an exceptional place for a child to start their educational journey. We are passionate about developing each individual child by ensuring that our teaching facilitates all learning styles and enables all children to attain their full potential.
Our curriculum is designed to provide all children with a broad and balanced education which offers appropriate support, stretch and challenge. Our intention is for all children to be given the opportunity to fulfil, or even exceed, their academic potential.
In addition to the curriculum, we offer an exciting co-curricular programme. Every term, we offer our children an extensive range of clubs to be involved in, to help to foster a wide variety of life skills and interests. We urge all our children to try as wide a variety of clubs as they can. We also encourage our children to take part in house competitions and events. Every child in Year 4 upwards has the opportunity to represent the school in sports fixtures.
We want our children to be ambitious and seize the opportunities available to them without being afraid of getting things wrong. We set high expectations for effort and behaviour and encourage our children to rise to meet this challenge.
Our aim is to deliver excellence in all areas starting with high quality teaching and exceptional pastoral care. Our energetic and dedicated staff know and understand our children as individuals which means we excel at delivering a challenging, individualised and exciting curriculum. This allows and encourages opportunities for children to ask questions, take risks in their learning and become independent individuals who are as best prepared as they can be to face the next stage of their educational journey.
There is a wealth of opportunity at Silcoates Junior School that helps every child develop confidence and enjoy success. Specialist teachers, wonderful school grounds that give our children the space and freedom to learn, play and explore as well as our superb facilities enhance this further. Our children love their school and are rightly proud of their achievements. If you would like to experience the warmth of the Silcoates community for yourselves – please do come and meet us.
